Clare, Smithstown Light Engineering is an Irish precision engineering company specialising in the manufacture of high-precision components for the global medical device and orthopaedic sectors. Founded in 1974, the company supports major international medtech manufacturers. The Shannon facility includes a 40,000 sq ft (approximately 3,700 m²) manufacturing plant, developed as part of a major €6 million expansion to increase production capacity.
Kelly RAC was engaged to deliver specialist HVAC installation works as part of the mechanical services package for the facility. Appointed by SCMS and working in accordance with the design by Moloney Fox Consulting Engineers, Kelly RAC supplied, installed and commissioned a Daikin VRV air conditioning system and a dedicated ventilation package to support the environmental requirements of the manufacturing spaces.
The works involved the installation and commissioning of high-efficiency climate control and ventilation systems designed to maintain stable indoor conditions while supporting energy efficiency and operational reliability. All installations were delivered in coordination with the wider project team to ensure seamless integration with the building’s mechanical services infrastructure and compliance with project specifications.
